Dan’s birthday!

So today is Dan’s birthday! We have just come back from a week in Scotland, near Aviemore, with Brad, Kate, Jiri and Anahi. We had dinner on Thursday night to celebrate Dan’s birthday together. We had the last two bottles of South African wine that we had brought across and a bottle of French Champagne from Steph. A pine marten came to visit us, and then the snow started to fall! This lead to a couple of hours throwing snow balls, making snow angels and the building of a huge snowman. Then there was a little bit of time where everyone searched for Jiri’s passport and wallet to no avail. Later on the snow man fell over and so we rolled the remaining ball down the hill. Guess what we found inside the stomach of the snowman? Jiri’s passport and wallet!!! More about Scotland another time.

Yesterday Dan and I head by train to the Manchester Christmas Market. It was so festive and cold we had to drink Gluhwein to stay warm – what a problem! We also ate some bratwurst rolls and roasted chestnuts from an open fire. Imagine if we had been there last year Danielle and Thorsten, we would have bumped into you!
